Note: This article was written a while ago, but we didn't have the fast internet needed to upload the videos.

Gil runs JR's on a very
relaxed schedule.
During our two month stay in Luperon, DR, we met another cruiser named Colin and his wife, Jackie. Colin plays the guitar and has been performing for a lot of his life. He had played a few times before at JR's, the local gringo/ cruiser hangout in Luperon (officially called JR's Bistro Tropical). Colin invited me to perform there with him. We ended up playing at JR's twice.

I didn't know any of the songs we played before the concert, and we had never played together before.  I learned all the songs as we played them at JR's.  He would walk me through the chords during the song, or I would just watch what he was playing and follow that. He did a great job at teaching me on the spot.

Both times we played, a string broke on his guitar.  While he changed them, I played some songs solo.  There are clips of these in the videos below.

I had so much fun doing this.  Thanks to Colin for making it happen and letting me join him.  I hope to do it again.

Here's a bunch of clips from both shows:

Next page is me playing "Wanted Dead or Alive" by Bon Jovi and also some more pics:
