It's the Christmas season, though it hardly feels like it down here in the tropics. It's so hot here that it's been hard to get into the Christmas spirit. But we've been listening to Christmas music nonstop for the past two weeks, and so that has helped it feel like Christmas - a tropical one.
Every year, I've wanted to record some Christmas music, and this year is no different. But this year, since it's Christmas in the islands, I decided to arrange and record a version of Carol of the Bells, in the reggae style.
And that's what I did.
In the song, there are parts for bass, piano, steel drums, a drum-set, and bells. I have a keyboard with many different sounds/instruments on it, so I recorded all but the bass track with it. We also have a bass guitar on the boat, and I used that to record the bass part.
The song is now done, and I'm sharing it with you. Merry Christmas everyone!
Very Christmas'y Irie Mon.
Great to hear from you, Ken. Look forward to catching up!
