Les Saintes, Guadeloupe
Bourg des Saintes is a beautiful, small town - almost too charming to believe. Add to that the daily fresh French bread, very inexpensive duck and lamb, and good cheese and red wine as well as good cheap French restaurants. Add the presence of other kid-boats for our kids. Then imagine coming here after many weeks in two of the most primitive countries in the hemisphere.
From Maroon village to French village. (Maroons are escaped African slaves.)
So it should be no surprise that we had a hard time tearing ourselves away, and we couldn't seem to find time to write blog posts. We've made it up the west coast of (mainland) Guadeloupe, but we're still not ready to leave this French island. Guyana and Suriname were not like anything we've ever seen, and we've got some posts coming soon on both of those places. In the meantime, we are wishing you a successful 2016 filled with joy, success, family, and friends.
Wow, this looks amazing!
Thanks for the comment, Brian. Hope you and your family are doing great!
