Mason 43 Daystar Is for Sale!

March 22, 2026

Our family has spent many wonderful days sailing on Daystar including three years of cruising from 2013 to 2016 from Annapolis, MD to Guyana and Suriname and back. She is an excellent cruising boat: easy to sail, comfortable motion, outstanding storage space, great interior spaces.

Due to the constraints of work, kids, and health, we’ve not been able to sail or maintain her as we had hoped. She is in a state of “good bones, plus.” That is, there is a definite need for maintenance, repair, updates, and refurbishment, but overall she is a very sound boat.

In great shape: the hull, engine, and interior.
In need of updating & maintenance: the rigging, some electronics, some sails, some systems.

We’d like Daystar to have a good home, with owners who will maintain and sail her! As a result, we are offering her in “as-is” condition, for a much lower than market price: $29,000. She is currently at the dock on the Chesapeake Bay (Galesville, MD).

Please text or call me at the number below if you are interested.

You can poke around this blog for lots of photos and other details. In particular, see here for more specs, and here for a tour of the boat.

Additional Info worth knowing:
The Mason 43 is a true classic and a proven offshore passage maker. This is the design chosen by George Day, former editor of Cruising World and founder of the touchstone publication Blue Water Sailing for his own family’s circumnavigation back in the 90s.

A very sea-kindly motion combined with great accommodations and classic good looks guarantee that this design is a worthy long-term investment. The Ta Shing yard built these boats to stand the test of time with the finest materials, top quality craftsmanship, and very tight specs from the designer Al Mason.

Additionally, for its size, the Mason 43 has a truly incredible amount of storage, and it is one of the very few boats in its size and class that has a dual-berth master stateroom.

This is a boat that can take you anywhere.
