On the Air

This past Friday and Tuesday, we got interviewed on the Rhett Palmer Show, a show on the local radio station.  Here's how it happened:

A week ago, my grandfather came to visit us.  He was lost, so he stopped by the studio of a local radio station to ask for directions. While he was there, he got into a conversation with Rhett Palmer, the "Mayor of the Airwaves."  My grandfather explained that he was visiting his daughter and her family living on a boat.  Rhett was interested and told my grandfather to make us call him.  When we did, Rhett told us that he wanted to interview us.  Rhett has a radio station talk show on WAXE and also has a local magazine called Vero's Voice.

The interview took place in the studio building.  The building is small, with a studio, several small interviewing rooms, and a conference room.  We introduced ourselves in the conference room, got drinks, and talked while waiting to go on air.  Then we went into the studio.  The studio had three microphones, so Nicole and my dad sat in one chair.  We then spent the next hour talking to Rhett and taking a couple breaks.  The interview went well, and it was a lot of fun.

The next day, we got a call from Rhett.  The interview had gone out live on the air, but the recording software crashed so there was no copy for us.  So on Tuesday, we went back to the studio and did another live interview.

Here is the audio of the second interview.  Hope you enjoy!

And here's a little extra: "Close Family on the Go."
