The Road that Couldn't Be Built. What a story!

But words aren't quite enough to describe the amazing tale of road-building on the island of Saba.

Even pictures won't quite do it justice. Here's a video that tells the story of The Road as we drive from one side of the island to the other.

We have traded a house in the suburbs for a 43' boat to live, study and explore as a family. Why? Change, adventure, simplification, a different kind of hard work. And because life is short.

We are calling this pre-retirement : temporary retirement while our kids are young enough to enjoy it.

We love our friends, activities, schools, and careers. But taken all together, it has started to feel like a cyclical grind of months of work, school, homework, and sports followed by a few summer camps and a couple weeks of vacation.

So we are blowing up our "real world" life to go sailing. We hope you will share our adventures.
