Moving to the Boat

September 10, 2013

by Nicole

We had to be out of our house at One O'clock on Monday, September Ninth.  It was really stressful and annoying trying to get everything out of the house and into the cars in time for the deadline.  I mostly helped, but I would often catch myself about to try to sit in mid air, forgetting that there was no couch, or leather chair that I used to love to sit in and read (they were already in storage).

After the closing, we had a sort of celebration lunch, and tried to go to a place near the Harris Teeter called Taqueria El Poblano.  That was closed, which stunk, because we were all looking forward to it.  Instead, we went to a little Greek place near school, which we have just discovered and love already.  After that, we went to Baskin-Robbins and had ice-cream.

After that, we drove to the storage space to see it completed, which was amazing.  I don't know how my mom does that stuff.  We opened the door and it was a solid wall of stuff.  I almost walked into it, which I think might have caused a landslide.  It was really awesome.  I think it was annoying moving, but it will be worth it.  Definitely.

What a crazy day that must have been! Congratulations on ending one adventure and beginning another! It makes me a little sad seeing this empty house because it means I won't be able to come visit. But I'm so glad I was able to see you all recently, and I can't wait to hear all the stories of your new adventures. Nicole, thank you for posting this! I love and miss you all!
